    PICS--PICS are GOOD

Soooooo--I just lowered mine on my 2020 to change out a flat--even made some pics so you can see what is above the spare--posted the link below. Turns out my spare was almost flat (18psi). Looks like it needs to be lowered every 6 months or year to re-fill it up to spec. Luckily I have on-board air or it would have been a PITA.

I like how this thread has lots of interest.

Appreciate you taking photos of removal. The entry point where the hook enters looks like it wedges into a bowl/cup catch...which would make easier than trying to hook the handle onto an eyelet.

Here's an easy/cheap mod to engage the rod on the elevator. Post #1011 https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cheap-free-mods.4838/page-51#post-3571643

Thanks for the link--I did see that link already about the pvc pipe mod. I don't think it is needed at all. At first I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to engage the tire lowering mechanism with the curved end of the rod but it is really easy. just push the rod in, the "funnel" guides it to the right spot. Turn, and if it is not properly engaged then the action of turning it causes it to slide into the right location. It really is a well thought out design. My initial concerns that it would be difficult is really the reason I took and posted my photos in the first place.

You got me interested in taking photos of my set-up. I tried to latch the handle from the license plate square but it wouldn't catch. That's why I'm thinking I don't have that mechanism you got on your Taco.

Yep, 2 or 3 plugs would probably fix that to get me off the side of the highway late at night if that’s what I had to do.
