Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
I think I'm going to go with this wheel and i'm leaning toward a Toyo open country AT in 265/70/17 for tires. Has anyone here had personal experience with them, I've only had BFG's and Goodyear's in the past. Then a 2 inch or so lift with Bilstein 6112's up front and 5160's rear with an add a leaf. This truck isn't going to be wheeled hard, but I like a capable vehicle.

I also decided to keep the 2020 and not wait for the 22.

I’ve ran the Toyo AT3 in that size on my ‘19 T4R and they were on the quiet side for a AT.
    Slight whine at highway speeds.

I recommend getting that wheel that comes with the clear coat finish. Not sure of the part#

Stay with the BFG's in my opinion. I have the Toyo's in 35's and they always need balancing I never seemed to have that problem with BFG's.

I saw some photos from someone on one of the tacoma facebook pages earlier in the week about a body mount relocation you did for them. in the photo of where the stock mount was removed, you could see the ground clamp barely holding on to a shred of the old body mount. if you haven't already, put a couple of these on your list of things for the shop. they make everything so much easier. you can remove the gator clamp completely and bolt your ground lug directly to it, or just use your current ground clamp right on the end without the bolt. i have one for my TIG machine and plasma cutter and LOVE them. worth every penny. even though my TIG machine only hits 260 amps, i use the 600 amp magswitch. the larger base and magnet compared to the 300 amp unit makes the ground so much more stable, especially if its upside down or on an angle where the weight of the ground cable wants to pull it off. they are also notched on the bottom to clamp to curved surfaces/tubing.

worth every penny if you are in the business of either production, or need very good grounds for sensitive TIG welds. it's certainly overkill for most folks, especially on a hobby level, but if you weld for a living, once you use one, you'll never go back.

I just did a couple of quick searches, and of course couldn't find the post. Im on too many Facebook pages.

Nothing wrong with the weld. Just suggesting it for the convenience, since you likely do a lot of welding on frames and tubing, where clamp points may not be convenient, or on tubing, the clamp may not be big enough to go around.

Ah gotcha. If it was part of the old mount it’s possible that was the plasma clamp. It’s a Dinky thing lol. But tend to clamp to the transmission crossmember when I do them now so I get a full clamp on the ground block.

It did look like a pretty chincy clamp, and it was on the remnants of the old mount, so probably plasma. It's bizarre how so many plasma machines come with those garbage little stamped steel clamps. Mine was the same way out of the box.

Well, you know my main choice, lol. That said, if I need a tire that's going to wear decently, rather than age exceptionally, I would go with Toyo/Nittos (same carcass). Although, I have a set of Nitto Trail Graps on the T4R that I got at a little less than 50% tread from Jon several years ago. They are a bit over 7 years old and are a smidge dry rotted but they hold pressure for the most part. They ride pretty good, but I'm due to replace them as soon as I get my rear links--I'm holding out for the $1600 5 link Total Chaos set--replaced and get the dang thing aligned. I'm either going to go with the Toyo hybrid, the Nitto Ridge Grap, or another set of Trail Graps (why the hell are hybrids so effin' expensive? You would think that being between an M/T and an A/T in performance, they would be priced between them instead of more expensive than either. o_O ). I did run a set of Toyo AT3s for a minute. They rode good (drove on them to VA and back--no complaints) but they weren't in the best shape when I got them and frankly they didn't have an aggressive enough look for me.

As far as BFGs, you may have had a different experience than me but I've never had a set that didn't dry rot and separate on me in less than 3 years. I'll never own another set on purpose (the spare for the T4R is a BFG, but that's only because it was a brand new tire and wheel off a 3rd Gen Taco I found a few years back on the trail at Citrus and nobody claimed. It's probably flat as a pancake right now, but it was free so what the hell :D).

I'd also like to put the new rubber on these wheels...

Have had the ridge grapplers on my tundra and have a set on my f250. Do great. The f250 though with the tune and delete I can break them loose on the highway @70mph and get sideways if I’m not easing into the throttle. Ride great though

This is the first time trying the Maxxis Razr 811 AT. There’re the same size of the tire that came on it from the Factory, and only 1 pound heaver. 265/70/16. I’m very happy with them.

I ordered some new speakers for the truck tonight. The stockers have a lot to be desired. Went with the Kicker upgrade that seems to be popular here. I've ran Kicker's in many rides in the past and always had good luck with them. Hopefully the 6x9's give enough bass, I don't want to give up storage space for a sub woofer.
