More horsepower, it runs way smother and it’s cleaner, also there’s not that much tacomas out there on E85

I thought the horsepower 'gains' were just from running leaner/more advanced timing. You're getting less energy per gallon out of ethanol than gas, so consumption will go up for the same amount of work.

What are you planning to do for timing control and fuel delivery?

You could probably do it with just tuning if the rest of the fuel system can handle the alcohol, have you checked with any of the tuners that lurk on here?

theres going to be almost zero benefit on an NA'd tacoma to go through the hassle to go E85. Also... this is the 2nd gen section.

It’s also less efficient and you’ll need tuning in addition to fuel system upgrades. No one has done it on a NA truck, they haven’t even done e85 on FI trucks yet.

Sure, start another E85 thread 15 minutes after another one was started.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/e85.762544/

The fate of this thread will be the same as all other E85 threads - deletion.

Toyota engine and fuel systems were NEVER designed for E85 (or anything other than Unleaded Fuel Only).

Try splashing 4-5 gallons of E85 per tank full to get you to roughly E30. That should give you most of any power gains you're likely to achieve without going to different injectors/specific tune, and no worries about harmful effects of alcohol on certain parts of your fuel system.

Total waste to even contemplate going E85 in a Taco. If you want more HP, smoother, cleaner or what ever then get a different vehicle.

Yeah what they said. E85 and a stock Tacoma is actually going to lose you horsepower. You can change injectors and make it like a Ford flex vehicle but what’s the point. I ran about an E30 to E35 mix in my TwinTurbo genesis G70 but it was boosted almost 20 psi. So unless you’re putting on a supercharger and just spinning your wheels (no pun intended).
