    Hey,
So I’m just wondering what could be the best bang for my buck right now as I’m looking to add some bass to my truck. I’ve seen OEM audio but that seems to be a little too steep or a price tag to pull the trigger on.
seeing if anyone has any advice or suggestions for something like a 10” sub and amp for now as well as what other items I would need. Since I’m new to the world of sound systems , any help to make it easier on me or clean installations would help. I would love to see your guys builds

my budget is shooting for under 1000$
I’ve seen some amp and sub combos as close to 300-500$ I just don’t know what all I need to buy and need especially for the 2021 tacomas. Again , only worried about sub and amp right now since it seems to be the easiest and Cheapest thing to do to get bass and more sound. However I am open to an all around upgrade on my trucks sound system if I can make the budget . Im open to any and every little bit of advice I could get! ( really looking for a seamless install , I don’t mind putting in the work and having to tidy up , but I prefer the sun and amp to be able to just slide into the back compartments , or remove minimal parts).

Thank you for everyone’s time and any bit of information

Single cab? Access cab? Double cab?

Some people on a budget get a “hideaway” sub and put it under the passenger side seat.

One thing to keep in mind is the steep bass roll off of the factory headunit. If you’re planning on keeping it, you’ll want a DSP to restore that low end. Other option is replacing the headunit, or you may be happy with it, just be aware of the possibility of :spending::rofl:.

To start though, type of cab will direct type of sub and amp recommendations. There is an “add-an-amp” harness available from a company that some had problems with in the past, so not a vendor, t a c o t u n e s.com, simple plug-n-play with the factory unit.

It’s a double cab , sorry about that confusion. I didn’t really plan on changing out the display unit but now it’s got me wondering lol

Okay, good. As for sub, I’ve seen people fit loaded truck boxes from Crutchfield back on the pass side. Some take out the bin, others modify it, your call. I’ve seen loaded boxes from JLAudio, Rockford and Pioneer. Sizes were 8”, 10” and 12” subs. Best place to check out ideas is the thread in the sticky up top.

Amps. I usually recommend a mono amp with equal or a little more output than the sub is rated for. And for you, you WANT one with high level/speaker level inputs.
