Experiences with Shock Surplus

Has anyone bought products from Shock Surplus? I heard about them from YouTube, but I can't find anyone who has had an experience with them. Does anyone know if they're a good company?

So does anybody have any experience with shocks surplus? Im about to order a fox lift from them and wondering if i should hold off from ordering with this company.

 

I ordered a set of shocks from them - they don't make shocks so this review is about customer service rather than the product. The order was shipped in two packages - front and rear. The rear set was sent via Fedex, and arrived promptly. The other one - via usps which still is under control of dejoy criminal. The package stuck in Denver with no updates, movement, or ETA for over a week. I called customer service and they shipped the replacement overnight.
Other than bad decision to use dejoy's outfit, they behaved in the best possible manner.
Granted, the phone number is not listed on their site but I found it online, emails are not paid attention to.

 

Made a order recommended by this company. When contacted with the recommendation they stated it had just been in stock and that I can make the purchase. After the order was made they never gave me a tracking number. I contacted them via email requesting a tracking number and never got a response. Couple of days after i sent them a message through their website requesting the number and never got a response. Days after i spoke with someone on the phone requesting a tracking number and he could not give me a answer. He said he'll contact me the following day with a answer. Following day i got a message on their website saying they are actually out of stock. Spoke with Jeff on the phone who stated was the manager. Ultimately shocks were not in stock. I had a special trip planned, installation appointment made two weeks in advance so my truck can be ready and now its been ruined. Just a fyi. Thank you.

 

I just bought a set of struts for my 4Runner from them. Fkng dejoy's outfit aka "usps" lost two, and they immediately shipped replacement OVERNIGHT (!!!).

 

I would not use them. bad controls on websites. order was wrong., took forever to arrive. then when the order was returned they charged 40 in shipping.
there is no one that you can talk to on the phone. only email responses. I was accused of purchasing the wrong shocks. i have a screen shot of the shocks I purchased. they have a screen shot with a different purhase. at a different time. ????
Regardless if you haven't been on Newegg.com. they now sell auto parts. same shock from shock surplus was 80+$ and on new egg same exact shock is 54 plus 7 $ shipping..
Nuff said.

 

Guess everyone has had different experience. I - for example - had BIGLY bad experience with newegg - ordered a few computer components, and they sent a partial order because other stuff was on backorder with not ETA so I got stuck and could not assemble the box.
BTW, I did manage to talk to the strut people on the phone but had to search for the number online.

 

Unfortunately.. I'm having a rather bad experience with shocksurplus. No issue's with shipping, but one of my rear shocks was previously installed, damaged, and returned.. and now im the lucky owner of it.
I've requested a call back via their site, only to receive emails with over 24 hours in between responses. I've left them a voicemail, and reached out via facebook.
So far they offered me $50 off the used and damaged shock, or to return it. grrr

 

I ordered a set of 6112 from them in May when everyone was out of stock and had no issues. The next day They called me to verify my order was entered the way I wanted before assembly. They shipped them 4 days later with USPS business.

 

Just to update anyone interested:
I finally received an actual call from shocksurplus! They will next day a replacement shock once its in stock (early October).

 

I switched to accutune recently so far been solid. Besides the companies not having stock but that’s almost everyone. If you order form them or filthy, poly, DSM etc that generally stock you will have a better chance. Not sure if they stock much but I’ve seen amd heard but never used shock surplus

 

As far as I'm concerned, Shock Surplus can suck a smelly fart.

Customer service is non-existent, never received refund for a pair of shocks I sent back.

 

Did you ever receive your refund from Shock Surplus? I'm waiting for a refund for some Bilstein 5100's I sent back. So far my experience with this company has not been great.

 

I haven't yet purchased but they have been quick to respond to emails. I even called, got someone on the phone who was pretty knowledgeable comparing the 6112 and 5100.

Unfortunately they are still out of 6112 for a few more weeks at-least
