Welcome, and this is a great starter post. Hope someone here can point you in the right direction. You might be able to reach out to @Jeff Lange for some info, he knows his stuff when it comes to Toyota part numbers.

The part number you have there is the Denso part number, not the Toyota part number. Can be good or bad, depending. Sometimes the same Denso part number will have multiple Toyota part numbers due to different cases or brackets, etc., but would be electrically compatible.

The following Toyota part numbers should probably work with your car, some came with the plastic case, some without.

    88650-12050
    88650-14010
    88650-14050
    88650-14051
    88650-14070
    88650-20100

I happen to have an old Denso accessory microfiche catalog card here, and confirmed that the 79 Corona part number 88650-20100 is indeed the Denso 077100-0610 part number, and it was definitely used on a bunch of cars in the 80's.

It sounds like you've got the correct part on your hands.
