Good morning, Kurt. Lots of small things to do today around my house. Laundry is already started.

Something you young whippersnappers have to look forward to… usually have to get up at least once in the night to stagger off to the bathroom. Not last night, gloriously slept through till almost 7am, but no morning quickie for me, I was in considerable discomfort from holding it in all night, as you might imagine. Gingerly tiptoed off to relieve myself, the cat trying his best to trip me the whole way, then nothing but drip, drip, drip. Self diagnosis, enlarged prostrate. The Medics don’t even check it anymore, telling me that at my age, if it was cancerous, I’d die from old age before the prostrate got me. Gosh, that’s good to know. Life is hell and then you die.

Story about Jury Duty... My first Jury Duty summons directed me to an office in the court house where I was given a written competency test. This was in Oakland California, in the year 1961. After completing the test, I was told that I'd be called to serve at a later time. I've since learned that those tests were likely racial exclusion tests, but no idea why I was not called back, unless it was reverse discrimination?
Anyway, I've been called up a number of times over the years since, put in my time waiting all day to make my $5 jury duty compensation, but never served on a jury. In my old age now, with a bad back and all, I opt out for medical reasons. Seeing the miscarriage of justice so often, I'm afraid I wouldn't be happy with whatever sentence was imposed on crooks anyway.

I've served once on Grand Jury for 3 months (2 days a week), and then a day waiting in courtroom when they filled the jury before they got to me .

:pccoffee:  I've had county jury duty a few times, never came close to seeing a courtroom. I had federal jury duty one time, and got to "voir dire" which is jury selection for a case about a drug dealer. They didn't like me I guess.

I've been splitting my time between garage and yard, sometimes doing garage work (servicing mower etc.) so I can do yard work. Garage project is a complete suspension refresh of my ancient, unloved little Porsche 996. I'm having fun with it but getting anxious to be back on the road.

Glad to hear it is only a sprain. A broken bone, at our age, takes multiple months to heal.

Praying it is not cancer. I was good with jury duty the one time I served.

Sorry Kurt, you seemed to hit the trifecta of bad luck.

Up early and preparing the meal. Cleaned and put Lumberjack cherry pellets in the EX6 yesterday, ready for a real workout today. Decided I was going to smoke the turkey in the EX6 and put the scalloped potatoes in there to give them a smoke flavor. I guess I will find out if the potatoes was a good move at dinner today. LOL

:hattip: Good Morning and Happy Easter Tom

When we lived in England I used to smoke our turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas. At a parent teacher conference one year, a teacher asked about it, which was a curious question for a parent teacher conference I thought. :confused:I guess our youngest son had complained that I "burned" the turkey every year.

    :oldglory: God Bless
