yea very good points and way to look at it. That’s what I had done w the 4R but figured I’d see if there was something I was missing. It is my first truck so learning some of the nuances. Thanks for the help!

What size are your current tires and what came stock or your truck?

Figuring your gas mileage with the odometer by the tank fill-up you need to add around 3.5 miles per 100 to be accurate because of the tire size difference. Hope this helps. Screenshot_20220417-135447.jpga

Ah yes, I knew there was a diff and totally spaced that when thinking about comparison to the 4R as that was stock size. I’m only comparing about 320mi of travel so shouldn’t make much of a diff.

Aerodynamics don't work the way some in this thread have assumed. It's.... dynamic. The flow of air is greatly affected by many things. A large part of it isn't even the front of the vehicle (either the truck or the trailer) but the way the air flows off the back and the amount of dirty air it creates. As well as any variances in the air, like turbulence, along the way across the vehicles together.

Slapping a cover on may look like it will work but that may or may not be the case. Especially on a vehicle that has little to no wind tunnel testing. Combine it with a trailer that wasn't factored into any aerodynamic features of the truck and you're just guessing what fixes might improve mileage via aerodynamics.

    Tl;dr: Start with tires.
