If you stick your head in one you can actually hear the marketing people cackling with glee.

Best I can come up with is that I’d turn each box into a kit, which I already do with other products. Ethernet kit, connectors kit, etc. comes with parts and appropriate tools in one box.

But i don’t get the whole mounting, stacking thing.

For the price I Cant do it. Atleast not for what i do. Maybe if i was in construction sure. But service or a home owner no. Atleast not the service work i do.

maybe if i specialized in something like data then did fancy little cut outs for my tools

It makes sense to me if you keep a van well-stocked for a variety of jobs. Wall-mount the Packouts in the van. When you get to the job site, throw the ones you need onto your Milwaukee hand cart and get to work.

Wall-mounting at home doesn't make as much sense to me. A good set of tool chests/cabinets/parts organizers would make better use of the space for less money. Maybe if all your tools came in Packouts, but they didn't...

And it all comes back to money... the last electrician I hired liked to buy red tools at pawn shops and keep them in 5-gallon bucket.

5 gallon buckets are very cheap, I find free ones in lakes and ditches all the time .

I keep all my power tools in a job box in my van, hand tools in veto tool bags and have like a few of the rigid organizers (basically their version of packout) on my shelfs to organize things like fittings, fasteners, etc..

I couldn’t imagine tearing out my shelfs to make a packout wall, feel like that would be annoying

    I like milk crates myself.

A 5-gallon bucket inside a milk crate so it won't roll around in the back of the truck is pure joy.

Get the bucket organizer with the bucket vacuum and put it all together and have everything in one

Even better if they use the $40 bucket for a "DIY budget potty" build
