Just joined the 3rd Gen 4-cyl crew and I want to install a secondary ATF cooler on my truck. I installed one on my first Gen and got great results. On the 3rd Gen radiators which is the inlet and what is the outlet for the ATF?

I ask this because I want to put the outlet from the radiator into the bottom of my ATF cooler and then have the cooler ATF exit from the top and back to the transmission. This way there is a very small change of introducing bubbles.

I searched but didn’t find the answer.

Hopefully this helps, only info I can find in my quick search. I don't have the 4 banger though and haven't done this.

So I finally got around to installing it. Before hand, using Scanguage to measure the temperature, the atf would climb to 210°. Today was 90°+ in SoCal and my atf reached a max of 140 in the morning and I didn't go above 165 in the afternoon. This is going from Camarillo to Tarzana and going up and down some pretty steep grade. Very happy with the results.

You could have done an ATF drain/refill and figured out which line was inlet/outlet.

Long TruCool LPD 4589. I had it in my 1st gen as well and decided to use it again on the 3rd gen. Extremely well built and I've seen actual cooling results on 2 different trucks now. I needed to add an extra qt of ATF.
