I just installed a raptor grill from Toco Vinyl and am having a problem with the TSS. When I first installed the grill I had no problems for about 3 weeks. Now I keep getting the system off light. It go's off and on all the time sometimes staying off for awhile and then back on. Any thoughts on this. Tried disconnecting the battery for awhile to reset to now avail. Any way to recalibrate or disconnect without going to the dealer. With 29000 miles I'm sure its not under warranty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the sensor is installed correctly. Any slight deviation of where it should/could be, will cause the system off light. I know because I had an issue where a zip tie for holding the mesh for my grill, was making the sensor slight point up. Re-aligned everything and haven't had an issue since.

Are you sure the sensor cable connection is tight?

It’s really, really hard to get the TSS out of spec with a grill swap . On the other hand if you dont follow instructions to a ‘T’, it happens.

I assumed you watched the TacoVinyl install vids and also transferred all your hardware from the old grille to the new one? Especially the 2 spacers/washers you have to pop out of the stock grille..
Nothing is tugging or loose and everything is oriented the correct way? TacoVinyl grills usually have the garnishes pre installed before shipping , is yours clean and straight? Is the TSS harness firmly seated ? Those are the things Id double check first.

As far as warranty, if the issue is result of a modification, they wouldnt cover that regardless of your mileage. There is no way of DIY recalibration , but unless you damaged something I don’t see why you would need it recalibrated to begin with. Simply swapping grills would not cause a failure unless something is wrong with the items myself and others have mentioned earlier.
