I have a 2008 tacoma sport 4x4 Longbed double cab. I currently have stock shocks and leafs at 120k miles also super rusty underneath. my leafs with my camper shell are sitting flat, so I would like to replace them with a new pack and some rear shocks. Like I said I have a fiberglass camper shell and I also tow a 2800lb travel trailer with a hitch weight of 350 I believe. My question is what Leaf pack should I get? I looked at the ironman, dakar, and icon RXT packs so far but idk what to get. I only tow the camper maybe 10 times a year and plan on taking it to SD and Missouri this summer. Do I got with the heavy duty pack? will that be too stiff when I am not towing the camper? or would a medium duty one be enough. I have a weight distribution hitch that I use as well which takes some of the sag out but my leafs turn sad with that camper hooked up. I don't really want to mess with air bags and need new leafs anyway so any recommendations would be appreciated. Looking to keep the lift amount as minimal as I can and not looking to spend Deaver prices. thank you.

OME Medium + replace your bump stops with Sumo Springs. I’m pretty happy with that combo on mine.

    I don't even have leaf springs (t4r) and I know #fuckdakars

also WDH for towing depending on the size of the camper. air bags are a band-aid for poor loading setup

If you keep it stock I picked up a set Dayton heavy duty leaf springs from a local suspension shop and a set 5100 shocks all around .

No matter what leaf’s you decide on replace all your shocks front and rear, not just your rear shocks. 14 years old, 120000 miles all 4 shocks are shot.

Got a pair of 2016 stock front shocks and coils with a spacer for $30 nothing great but it'll be better than what I got now. And was planning on replacing the rears if I could find some take offs. If not probably do 5100s or something similar

I have always heard Deaver and Icon RXT are the top 2.

    Deaver: #1, costs more, $1k+
-custom, or specific fitments. More thin leaves, rides better

RXT: #2, may not have as many thin leaves; rides well, but not as good as Deaver
-adjustable to fit your needs: can be configured to option 1, 2, or 3, with the spare parts kept in storage if you need to change them later
both can support weight if you get the right Deaver
they're designed to hold more weight + tow
ie camper shell, gear in bed, RTT, etc.
cheaper, approx $700 new not including shipping

both can be found for less used

my RXT's started squeaking probably because I failed to grease the bolts when I installed them; I need to figure out which greasable bolts to get to resolve that. I think it's coming from the bolt area and not the pack itself so I don't blame the part at all.

OME is cheaper and said to be not as good
