    Hello,
I am on my 3rd Taco and I have yet to make any modifications. I would like to any positives/negatives to replacing my stock 18" wheels to a 17". I see so many options in 16/17" but the 18s' are fewer and I prefer the look of a slightly smaller rim, with a slightly beefier tire than the Michelin LTX M/S P265/60R18's that came with it. Is it recommended to stay with the rim size on the stock vehicle? Will a 17" be an issue? (other than calibration)

Thanks to anyone that offers advice. I know it will likely lead to other questions...I just don't want to spend money on new wheels/tires and make a costly mistake.

    Cheers!

    Welcome @jrmac

Thank you for stopping by and introducing yourself.

When it comes to wheel sizes we have seen that the 16" and 17" wheels are a popular choice when you are wanting to add a beefier tire.

Although this is a popular choice we do have to take into consideration if the truck is level or has any lift kits applied, this is because when you add beefier tires to a stock truck and lift you could run into some rubbing issues and may need to do some fender modifications upon installment.

We would love the opportunity to answer your questions on a deeper level and assist you in finding the perfect wheel and tire combo for your Tacoma.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
