    few things here and there.
    Hey y’all.

Quick question. I did the uni mod for the 2nd air filter. Just curious about how far back I can put the filter on before there are problems.

I know this might sound dumb, but hear me out. If I slide the filter on the part it attaches to and push it all the way on (the part that goes inside the filter) it feels like it hits a wall in the filter. Putting it all the way on is the only way I can fit it under the cap.

I’m just curious… can it still get air if it’s hitting the wall inside the filter? If that makes sense lol. Or do y’all not care if it’s (the filter) under the dust / weather cap?

just trying to make sure I did everything right haha.

Cap is not on in the photo so y’all can see how I have the filter on. Thanks!

I don't think the earlier Tacoma's even had the cover. On the vids I have watched of people doing this on truck that had the cover and replaced it after installing
the Uni filter, the front of the filter is more or less flush with the front edge/opening of the cover. I think the cover was mainly was to keep water out of it.

Leave enough room so it can get air, I put the cover back on mine.
It sticks out a little but the cover fits just fine.

As Dm93 said, I put my cover back on and my filter sticks out about 1/2" or so.
