Exhaust fit?

Will a 2015 4.0 extended cab fit my 08 4.0 crew cab long bed trd sport. Need a new muffler and this came up for cheap

No, it will not.

• For the 6cyl models there are 3 different exhaust lengths, from shortest to longest: single cab -- access cab & DCSB -- DCLB
• The rearmost exhaust hangers are different for 05-11 vs 12-15. The location is the same but the hangers are rotated 90deg from each other. Supposedly you can use a different rubber hanger to make it work - I've heard this mentioned multiple times but have never seen it so can't verify.

You can EASILY get that 2015 access cab exhaust to fit your 08 DCLB:

• Have an exhaust shop add piping to extend the length. This is a quick and easy job for someone with a welder.
• Have an exhaust shop modify the rear hanger (requires welding) OR use a different rubber hanger.

I've done related mods to my truck over this past year so have some recent first hand experience. First, I modified the rear hanger so I could install a 2012+ exhaust on my 2010. The reason here was to provide some more room for a 33" spare.

I also recently found a 2016+ TRD muffler for sale and decided to hack up my old exhaust to create a custom one for my DCLB with TRD muffler and chopped after the rear axle.

This was all done at home with basic tools and a welder. A muffler shop with a lift, better equipment and experience would make short work of what you need done.

 

With a pipe expander a short section and a welder you can make it work.

I have a FJ Cruiser TRD exhaust on mine.
