Tried some after market headlights from spec D I think they are called, they are terrible.... now looking at other options but nothing looks too promising, is there anything out for for decent headlight housing for 2006 tacoma? 2005-2014

I just ordered the Spyder LED Halo lights. I'll let you know my thoughts when I have them installed for a week.

    few things here and there.
What made them terrible? Clarity? Adjustability? Longevity/quality?

Are you wanting to go to a projector specific?

You’re going to want to look for lights for 2005-2011. 2012-2015 is a different design and will not fit your truck unless you do a 2.5 gen conversion. If you are looking for the best output I suggest reading the first post in this thread.

Or be prepared to drop big bucks on a quality set of custom built retrofits.

Ultimate headlight upgrade is a vast improvement. I too had Spyder projector lights, and that headlight upgrade is astonishing. Spyder doesn’t even come close.

Absolutely, factory lights (head lights, taillights, etc) are leagues ahead of any aftermarket available IMO

I was in your place a few years ago. I tried various aftermarket “solutions”. I finally settled on some ‘09 Sport smoked chrome OEM housings and the aforementioned Ultimate Upgrade. Wish I did it sooner. Could almost start a grassfire with my headlights now!:anonymous:
