I'm much more likely to just buy a folding card table for under $100 and deal with stowing.

Just get a $40 Lifetime table at Costco. Much better than any "broverlanding" table. I had an REI camp kitchen before I got my Lifetime table. After having the much more simple/reliable Lifetime table I've never looked back. Easy peasy.

This table has been in my camping arsenal for 10 years and it is perfect for me.

• It's small and easy to stow.
• The adjustable height can accommodate just about any table need.
• And its affordable (especially compared to other *overlanding*/Instagram items)

The height adjustment makes it money when we do use one (we usually just set our two burner stove on a rock or our tire table thing sometimes haha). Being able to sit at our low little chairs or stand or have it on uneven terrain is worth the adjustable legs, and a reason I wouldn’t get a table with set height, just for whoever is in the market.

 

Here's a pic of mine in action. I hook a bungee cord for my paper towels under the table.
They have different designs. The one I use most for camping has different legs than the one pictured but have one like that too and it folds in half. Both are height adjustable.
I almost got a new one last week at Costco just like the one I have. It was $40.

This is the version that I feel is better because of one handed operation for the telescoping legs.

 

Yours looks like it has a better support for the middle of the table than the ones now.

I'm going to go sit over here with my cheap roll top table that you can't even get your legs under to sit at properly.


* Just glancing at their website it doesn't even explain what "renewed bamboo" means (I'm too lazy to look at the rest of the website, they do make nice stuff though and I have a Snow Peak mug).

 

How's the flatness on these unfolded? I went to home depot about a year ago and the two halves were high in the center quite a bit, like over an inch. I don't recall the brand but I was not impressed, maybe they break in some?

Edit: Now that I look at it a little closer it doesn't look like it folds in the center, so it shouldn't have that problem.

This one is a non-folding version which is what I saw at my local Costco a couple weeks ago. I have a folding type too.

Proud poser here but not new to Snow Peak. I have a backpacking cookset from 1999 that's only been used a couple times. There's also a double wall mug in my camp kitchen too. They make great products but are very expensive.

See reply above. My folding table is flat too. Don't even notice the seam.

 

I've actually got a couple of Snow Peak items (cooking stuff) and would love to have more of their stuff including one of their bamboo tables, but yeah, even as nice as it is it's kind of hard to justify the glamping prices. My Snow Peak titanium chopsticks are just cool though.

 

It means it’s a renewable resource rather than old growth or cleared rainforest hardwoods. Bamboo is pretty invasive so I’d look into just how it’s “renewed” though.

Here's my addition to the thread. Did this with the explicit intention of ballin out on a budget. The cap was $800 off FB marketplace, wood was $180, mattress $170.

Three pieces of 3/4inch maple hardwood plywood with a 2x4 brace. The original idea was to copy BamBeds, mostly because I liked how easy it looked to breakdown/reassemble, but the $500 price tag was absurd.
Curtain rods are attached with 1/2in tube clamps using the original bolts for the window frames. Velcro double-sided strap to keep the curtains stuck to headliner and out of the way

 

Wish the drop pockets for cross bracing were 1.5" deep so 2"xs would sit level with the bed length lip.

*Also wish Toyota didn't do away with the pockets over the wheel wells.

 

When I built mine I notched a 2x8 so the top would sit flush with the wheel well.
