Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

finally got a bath.

 

Picked up my brand new 22 off road lunar rock last Thursday was time to let the 2nd gen go and get a 3rd gen in my fav color few upgrades should be comeing soon

 

Got mine after waiting about a month from the dealership this past Feb. Really love my Taco after years of not having another one. A few mods since, nothing major - window tint, badge overlays/inlays, raptor lights, Black Rhino wheels on A/T Wildpeaks, Heritage badge.

 

Stumbled across a 2022 TRD Sport with 3100 miles and not a scratch on it. Just got it back from Xpel installer and have only put mud flaps and vent visors so far. Bed cover, mat and running boards being delivered soon.

 

Your old Voodoo will sell pretty quick I'm sure. Also noticed the Candadian trim Tacomas have the sport wheels and fender flares, but not the hood skewp. You're going to love the long bed and this new Lunar Rock color - its quite amazing!

 

I sold my 2020 privately but put it through the dealer for tax savings. There better be a hood scoop hiding under that wrap...lol

 

my Tacoma had scratches hiding under the leading edge of the wrap, my tundra had scratches at the back edge of the wrap towards windshield. Seems funny as it’s there to prevent such things.

 

My Tacoma sport had small surface scratches on the edge where the flat part of the scoop platform downturns onto the lower portion of the hood. Have not had time to polish to see if I can get them out (Can't feel them so hopefully they will). Good thing Lunar hides dirt and imperfections much easier than darker colors.

 

Man voodoo was my first choice but glad I ended up with the lunar rock

 

Anyone have these on their lunar rock truck yet? Tired of the altezza looking early 2000s tail lights

 

I still love the VooDoo and I wouldn't be buying a new truck if it wasn't for the high resale value of these trucks right now.I just couldn't pass it up.Lunar Rock is the only color that appealed to me.I had originally ordered another Off Road and I still prefer the proportions of the short box,but I decided to change it up a bit and went with the Sport long box.

 

No. Just go with the OEM TRD Pro tailights - better quality than aftermarket that won't go out of style. All the chrome and grey parts inside the TRD Sport/OffRoad/Limited is black on the TRD PRO units.

 

A month? I'm jealous! I'm coming up on month 5 for my lunar rock. I'm getting impatient.

 

That’s what I originally wanted honestly but talked myself into the led because of the led headlights. Think I’ll prob just go with the OEM pro lights. They so look good on lunar.

 

Be sure to install the Meso Customs LED stage1 taillight conversion. It comes with a new harness and operates the taillights as they should. (Both top u-shaped lights up during braking, turn signal is located in the bottom and blinks orange. Reverse stays in there and includes an LED switchback bulb) Truly makes the rear more safer for those behind you especially when the brake light now includes both C-Sections.

Finally joining the party! Here is my new 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road in Lunar Rock! I love this truck so far. And I'm glad to be a part of this community!

 

5 months??!!! Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? Even when I was waiting for my taco, the dealership in Riverside CA had 4-5 "in transit" lunar rocks on the way....can't imagine waiting months for the taco.

 

I waited seven months. You gotta do what you gotta do.

 

In New Jersey. South Jersey to be more exact

 

I’m almost at 6 months waiting for a lunar rock. In Las Vegas, NV and only one dealer is selling at MSRP. I’m willing to wait then pay a markup. Plus it seems that California gets a bigger percentage of allocations compared to other states.
