I love my 2022 DCSB with 265/75/16 tires I drove from San Antonio to Austin 60 ish miles each way . last weekend did 70-75 keeping up with traffic. There is small hills between City's nothing major. I used adaptive cruise on the way back a few times it down shifted to 5th one time to fourth. Filled up leaving San Antonio and filled up when I got back 23 mpg by math not the dash .

If you're at all considering putting bigger tires on you'll regret the 2.7
2.7 RC here, stock was manageable but nothing to brag about. 31s was meh, I could be a patient driver and live with it. 33's was just scary trying to pass with stock gearing and 16mpg with a camper shell. 4.88s made it less scary but it's still a pig. A very reliable pig.

IMO: No: you won't. I went with my son to look at and test drive a 2005 AC LB SR5 4-cyl stick a few years back. 140K. We were gone for 90 minutes. I was also looking at going back to a truck for my next ride and at the end I knew a Tacoma was going to be my next vehicle. Two years later I ended up with a 6-cyl auto 4x4 SB DC; Apples and Oranges. BUT: if a 4-banger AC LB 2wd stick presented itself first, (hard to find: at least in these parts) I would have jumped on it and still would be smiling. No regrets. Is it (4 cyl) slower? Yes. Is it more reliable? I'd say: yes (find the famous "Top Gear" episode) It is more fun to drive? Draw: unless you're a stop-and-go commuter. Everything else is gravy. He has 225K on his truck now: clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder replaced, U-joints, alternator, valve cover gasket. That's it. Go with your gut.
