    Hi Folks, two questions,

Stock 2013 DCLB with 43K miles.

    1) Thanks for taking the time to check out my video. Noise starts at around 7 seconds. It's the driver side front. Can notice the rattling when turning the wheel when in drive and reverse and at a stand still. Also notice the rattle at slow speed going forward and in reverse without turning the wheel as well.

    2) Also, what do you guys think of the lower control arm bushing? A little bit of grease underneath the bushing but it doesnt seem ripped or torn.

Thanks and hope you all had a good Easter.

Check the heat shield on the cover.

Also, the thing pictured is the lower ball joint. I would not worry about it myself. But I’m not one to worry about small stuff.

If you are worried about that ball joint, you can test it real simple. Jack the truck up so the front wheels are off the ground. Straighten the wheels, grab the tire at the 12 and 6 position and pull/push. If it moves, appears loose, or you hear anything, you have worn ball joints. The 9 and 3 position will test the steering joints.

I prefer using a big pry bar under the tire to check ball joints. By the time you feel movement they are really worn. Not that doing it the way you described doesn’t work. Because it does. But the pry bar method can catch it quicker. It just requires a buddy sometimes to be the “pry guy” while you watch the joints.
