Basically I am on an extremely limited budget but would like to add some 7" or so lights to my ARB bumper. I don't have $3-400 to spend on some real nice LED's though. I have heard a couple people say the nylights on eBay are ok.

Does anybody have any ideas of cheap but decent quality lights? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the NiLight brand on Amazon. Had one of their 20" bars on the front of my truck for about 2 years now and no problems. Also used their little 4" pods for my ditch lights earlier this year. I absolutely don't understand why people spend hundreds of dollars on LEDs. Its just not worth it. Even if the cheap ones burn out once a year (which its hasn't) I can buy like 10 of them and still spend less than the Expo AF brands

Edit: Now that Im re-reading this a week later, I guess the only exception would be DOT approved fogs. Those might be worth the extra money

NiLight were what I was thinking of. I know another member that has them and they seem to be ok. Like you said, replacing is cheap. If they have decent output then I don't see the argument.

Only thing I would change if I bought another one would be a pure spot, over the combo spot/flood I have now. Now that I have ditch lights and the fogs in my ARB bar I dont so much need the flood part

Which fogs are you running in your ARB? I was literally on STEDI's website looking at their LED replacements for an ARB deluxe bull bar. They have some really nice driving lights too, but I can't bring myself to spend that. The only reason I am going to spend the 200 is because they are designed to fit and replace the stock ARB fogs, which my bumper did not come with.

Im actually just running the ones that come in the ARB fog kit. I guess they're not like super duper bright or anything, but for sure they are better than the stock Tacoma fogs.

Just ordered a set of the pod NiLights with harness for around $20. Thanks for the info. I was about to get a set of Rigids then circled back through TW to look for other options and saw your post.

I run the 9" round LED Nilights from Amazon. Super bright and no issues for over 2 years. Look just like the ARB version without the ARB label or price tag.

Ohh I might have to look into those! I think they might look better than just a regular 20" bar.

Got any pictures of the front of your truck?

Damn, those things are monstrous! :D

They look good though, I think I might have to make the upgrade soon

Did you end up getting the STEDI drop-in LED replacements for the ARB Deluxe bull bar?

If yes, how did the install go? How is the fitment? Light throw? Proper cut off not to blind other drivers? Long term durability?

I just ordered a pair tonight for my new, not-yet-installed 2012-2015 ARB Deluxe bar.

Before ordering the STEDIs I spent an hour or two reading posts around TW forums about different replacement fog light options. I also visited your website & reviewed the options there. Various Baja, RIGID, & KC fogs are ultra-capable but I want to keep a more stock-looking appearance, so I'm going with the purpose-built & fitted STEDIs. They are about $225 w/ shipping from Australia -- but that's $AUD. Converted to US currency it was about $163. If they are as good as their marketing materials & lumen claims look that will be a very good buy compared to the ARB small (Deluxe Bar-format) bone-stock $113 halogen fogs.

they arnt "bad" light, but just not the best out there. they have about half as much light output as the DD sport lights. however like you said, if you want something that looks better in that bumper its not bad. As yea, the stock ARB lights suck lol.

It's interesting to compare the STEDI fogs claim of ~750 lumens vs the Diode Dynamics Series 3 "Fog Sport" (white) claim of ~1500 lumens, with the latter costing maybe around $25-$40 more than the STEDIs. Probably impossible to compare one mfg's lumen claims with another's due to different testing methodologies, and all mfg's have an incentive to inflate their lumen claims.

If I'm not really not satisfied enough w/ the STEDIs I'll return them or sell them used & go with a DD option. Since my use case is mainly city DD with occasional forest-road jaunts, not full overlanding, probably the STEDIs will be a good-enough upgrade without making my ARB bull bar look "fancy."

you can also check crashes thread at the top, hes been doing actual testing on each light he gets. I am not sure he has yours yet, but worth a read.
