Question for ya all, so I found out that my wife's RX450HL (in the online lexus app) mentions using a fuel injector cleaner. Lexus dealer said its called BD92000 BARDAHL INJECTOR, or an alternative is BG44k.

Have any of ya used fuel injector cleaners in your Tacoma? They said to use it every 5k miles. Basically each oil change i think. Did this help or improve your truck's efficiency? Never done this at all and I avoid the ones at the pump that said they'll add it..

Gas additive injector cleaner in my opinion is only a maintenance solution not a true cleaning. If your vehicle has 50,000 or more a true injection clean wouldn't hurt. It involves hooking up lines and running cleaner directly through fuel injector system. This helps with overall performance of the intake fuel system.

I ran so many cleaners. And now my O2 sensors seem to have went bad. So I replaced them.
I probably never have to run a cleaner ever again. The engine looks brand new inside at high miles. I change the oil every 5k.
Gasoline may have some in it already.

I imagine it’s not good for O2 sensors to be burning that shit constantly aside from gas they’re designed to work with.

from now on if something fails I’ll just replace it.
If a fuel injector needs to be removed and sent off for ultrasonic cleaning, flow testing and spray matching, no can product is going to achieve that.

problem is this is my only car. I don’t have the downtime to leave it parked inop while the injectors are pulled out and mailed to an injector shop and wait for turnaround time of a week or so.
Injectors usually also have a pre filter inside that looks like a basket weave mesh. Which with miles and age wears out. That no additive will fix vs mechanical part replacement. Just like how additive in a can doesnt fix a bad motor mount

I've had great experiences and results sending my injectors off to Witch Hunter Performance for ultrasonic cleaning basket replacements and flow matching.

Dumping a bottle of snake juice in the tank has never done anything noticeable.
