good to know! Thanks. Was a double-blessing because my factory ball joints were very wiggly...they pretty much just flopped around in there (thatswhatshesaid).

Did you drive home in reverse, how could you not feel the drag? Maybe I need more coffee and turn on the volume to the video??

I have my drain up high (roll n lock) just under the cove box through the back wall of the bed then down. That way they're not in the way of anything that will need to all the way in.

Is that the Metra dash kit? If so I had the same issues back when I first got my aftermarket unit some 7 or 8 years go. And it had an annoying rattle/squeak can't recall. I ended up switching to a scosche dash kit and it fit so much better and smoother. Only issue I had with it was the mounting brackets were plastic instead of something sturdier but for the price it wasn't bad at all.

Yeah it is the Metra kit. I just looked up the Scosche kit but that is only for 12+ so that wont work for me but thanks for the suggestion.

They must have. I could get it but I would have to change my hazard switch and clock thing.

    No prob. :)

I also forgot to mention - I am using a Metra kit. I did not use their clips, I reused my own. I did, however, use their mounting arms instead of my OEMs, and I'm disappointed at myself for that.

Anyway, it doesn't rattle or squeak.

Not a Tacoma but after restoring the headlights on my wife's Corolla I was inspired to do the work truck today

Those look great! I love the bronze wheel look. Sometimes I wish I would have went that route. But I don't like them as much on a white truck.

Thanks, they’re still a little scuffed and hazy in places but they’re a hell of a lot better than they were and pretty good for a 2008.

Nice! I ordered a cerakote kit for my Tacoma since they aren’t too bad. The 3M kit is pretty heavy duty

I picked up the same kit a while back. Supposed to be in the 60’s this weekend so I’ll knock it out this weekend.

    how’d you do that?
I’ve tried both polish kits as well as sand to 600 grit and spray automotive UV resistant clear coat
But it never seems to last long

buddy asked what I recommend for his faded ones and I don’t know if they’re too yellow and far gone - recommended black DEPO housings to replace the whole things.
But restoration seems easier and no need to mess with aiming adjustment and breaking weak old plastic clips removing them

    edit: nvm saw the replies
wow Didn’t know cerakote made a coating kit for headlights. Should be decently priced. I’ll look into it. Need to protect my recently new DEPO housings
