What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Brand new to the forum. Not all done today, but I installed caliraised LCA skids today. Also newish are caliraised rock sliders, and same day finished putting on RCI skid package by installing the transfer case skid.



Initially while driving I had a pretty obnoxious knocking sound after installing the transfer case skid, was worried at first I broke something, turns out my exhaust was sitting very close to the skid and they were banging at certain RPMs, so I wrapped it in exhaust tape as shown below and haven't had issues since.

 

I need to be matching. Ordered a blue compressor switch and got sent green. At least OTTRAW has great customer service. I emailed them and they should send it monday i bet.

Till then, ill get a twitch in my left eye everytime im in the truck. But, the switch does work.

 

Picked up a little “Vroom-vroom” toy on a good deal from the ‘ole Craigslist.
Quick and easy install, just takes a bit of spine yoga to plug in. This will be fun to play around with over the coming weeks.




Also did the A/C drain mod before the hot summer months hit.

Drove mine today after sitting for a week driving the commuter. I did the 1000 mile oil change last week so I was able to let the RPMs climb a bit higher today. Used S mode and shifted myself through 3rd at about 4500rpm and it gets going pretty well. I wish shifts were faster though.

 

Installed my Midland MTX500 and fabricated a bracket for the Ghost antenna so I could mount it to the Prinsu.

 

Installed an Escort x50 using the PerformancePackage Mirror Mount. The write-up thread is over here.

Challenge done! @MGMDesertTaco @Tacoproma… pro tip. List the names of all the angels and saints and ask for their help and guidance especially when installing the nuts to the bolts. If you do not have a whole lot of PATIENCE then this mod is not for you! It is a PITA!!! But it is doable. @MGMDesertTaco thanks for the 3x dare Bud! By the way make sure to put rtv or any sealant of your choice for good measure and peace of mind.

So you were able to obtain the trim ring/gasket from the dealer? Which silicone or sealant did you use if any?

 

yeah they did the recall.Permatex Rtv sealant which was what I used on the oem light when the bolt came loose two years ago.

Like most days... nothing at all

 

I did it myself, have it parked outside in the sun to help these last few wrinkles relax

 

1st project of the day hauled 1 yard of wood chips for the garden

 

So after cleaning out the box installed my Bestop that I took off my second gen, also pictures of the black badge overlays and the black letters in the tailgate

 

What circlip setting did you put the front shocks at?

 

I didn't do jack today. But I recently got a new phone, which means the quality of my "truck photos" has drastically improved. Haha

 

I hit and cracked my taillight with a piece of lumber a few months back and decided to de-chrome the taillights while I was at it. Super easy install with the OEM TRD pro lights $130 each from McGeorge Toyota bulbs included. They look so much better, especially with the Army Green.
