I'm wondering if I can take the lift on my 4runner and just 'transfer' to my Tacoma (off road '19), with some help. It's a ToyTec kit that is two years old with about 20k miles on it....

Asking more so if it's a bad idea? Pros/cons...
    Thanks.

I think the coikovers will be okay not sure about uca's not much else to swap, maybe front bumps.

Check the Toytec site to see if the front end parts have the same part numbers.

Pro: most likely a bolt on in the front.

Con: rear might need modification (I believe the lower bushing needs to be ground down to fit the Tacoma mount)

4Runner on average runs 300 to 700 lbs heavier than the Tacoma depending on model. So the shocks can be valved more aggressively to manage the extra weight.

It may be best to talk to ToyTec and see.

Also, to lift the rear of the Tacoma will be completely different, 4Runner is coil, Tacoma is leaf sprung.

I remember reading about someone doing the reverse and I think mounting hardware(bolt hole size and alignment) is slightly different in the front. Don't remember about the rear.

I'm almost positive the upper mounts are the same on the front. I think the 95-up tacoma, 96-up 4Runner, and up to the last gen tundra all used the same mount. And I can't imagine the lower bolt size being different. I had a really nicely set up 5th gen 4Runner I traded for my Tacoma. Had JBA upper arms (same part number for 3rd gen tacoma) and eibachs/5100's, Rokmen rear arms, poly everything. It handled awesome and rode great. Obviously you'll have different things you need for the rear but the front should bolt right in. My last second gen I had I ran 3 leaf AAL's from Wheelers in the back with 5100's and it was about perfect. But as has been said the shock valving may be a little firmer for the extra weight of the 4Runner. Which to be honest a lot of people might like.

5th gen 4runner to Tacoma. The rear is def different. The bottom mounts for the shocks are different.

Front might work though. But im not positive bc there could be a difference in shock length. But. Top hat Mounts the same and im pretty sure the bottom does too.

You are right on the rear. Also as you said 4runner fronts are long length. I remember seeing side by side picture of them.

Ya I wasnt sure if they were the same length or not. Keep in mind the front springs too. 3rd gen taco is like 717 pounds and the 4runner is 590 in stock form.
