Ok so I am having trouble getting the TRD shift knob. I ordered one from Amazon, never arrived. I got refunded. I then ordered one from this website: https://www.oemgenuineparts.com on 3/28. Website says order is "in progress" and it's been crickets from them despite efforts to email them.

I can't find any other website that will ship to Hawaii for a good price. What gives?

Maybe I should try call dealership and see if they have in stock...

I am thinking it has something to do with trademark violations and Toyota asked or demanded that they quit reproducing the Toyota trademark without authorization. That is what happened with the guy out there who was producing Toyota emblems to cover up the awful chrome emblem that is in the middle of the steering wheel. They were producing them in color matching colors to go with the exterior color, or you could choose black, which I think most people did before they had to quit making and selling them. Same thing happened with the front sensor covers which is why instead of being able to get sensor covers for $20, now if you are lucky, you can get a dealer to sell you one for several hundred dollars!

If you can live without the "TRD" on the side, you can get a ball shifter knob from Core-Shifters (Brentwood, Tennessee). Mine (shown below) cost about $40. The 3D printed black cover for the chrome boot cap came from Etsy seller Trailbreaker Customs ($33).

Nice, I've been trying to buy this ball since February. I ordered the collar from Trailbreaker and it's sitting on my desk waiting for the ball.... Haha!
    Thanks!

I would recommend using a thicker O-ring on the inside of the collar (I actually used a flat faucet washer, that happened to fit). The O-ring that he supplied allowed the whole boot to ride down too far on the shaft.

Finally got it. The bay order was lost in the mail for a week but it arrived!!

Ok so I tired the trail breaker plastic cap which didn't work well. It doesn't hold the bag down and I am curious how people got it to work. It was garbage.

I had a rubber grommet, it worked wonderfully. Love the look and feel!!

Probably because its like everything else in this world. Sitting in a shipping container somewhere or got ripped of the train the factory shut down.
In the last few years I have had issues getting many random things that should have been no big deal.

The rubber grommet will work, but the whole purpose of the Trail Breaker cap is to hide the OEM chrome boot top without having to remove it. You have to give it a quarter turn clockwise to lock it into the chrome top.

The problem in holding the bag (boot) down is that the shifter shaft is tapered, so any type of cap (including a grommet) will let the boot ride up to its natural limit. This can be seen in my picture, earlier in this thread. By adjusting the width of the O-ring, or rubber washer, inside the Trail Breaker cap, you can regulate the minimum height of the boot, but not the maximum. It will eventually slide up as far as it wants to go.
