    we only got rain down in the valley where i'm at but there was a bunch of new snow in the mountains all around me. the local avalanche report is done for the year, really odd to have this much new snow this late in the year, so there are no official reports but i imagine the avalanche danger is high/extreme everywhere. the road closures in the east are due to high winds blowing the snow. plow crews can't keep the roads clear. been a wild year.
    this is closing weekend for all of the ski resorts in the area. they all say they've never seen this much fresh snow so late.
