So I need a new driver side front axle. I don't feel like rebuilding it myself. I just want to replace the whole axle. Having said that, do I need an OEM new/remanned? Will a Vatozone/RockAuto axle be just as good? I need to order soon. It's spewing grease all over.

Help me decide which route to take. If you can suggest a place to buy it from, that's even better. I want to buy once, cry once. I don't want to do this job again, at least not anytime soon....

I had great luck with CVJ reman using OEM boots (and they use OEM cores as well). I've heard too many "horror stories" about aftermarket ones having issues quickly. Straight new OEM is great if you're willing to cough up the asking price.

This place seems GREAT!! I have one question. I'm at stock height now. My 6112s are on backorder. When I get them, they'll be set for a 2" lift. Will the 9808T be good? It says it's for non-lifted trucks. The 9808TR says it's for moderately lifted trucks. I'm wondering which one would be more appropriate for my situation.

I had the stock ones with my 2-2.5" King lift on my last truck, since my CV angles weren't bad. I heard a couple people had issues with the red silicone boots, and since I don't stress my angles much (intentionally), I stuck with the OEM boot option.

Your local dealer of course but I would look on some of the online toyota parts websites such as Mcgeorge toyota parts, sparks toyota parts, and bam wholesale. Just type that in and it should come up.

Take it to a dealer or indie shop that does a lot of Toyotas. They will likely have a replacement boot in stock to replace your damaged boot. That'll be the quickest turnaround time.

Reman'd axle that uses OEM hard parts will be OK as well: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10115096&cc=1431544&pt=2288&jsn=424

Once upon a time I had a torn boot and noticed that OEM prices for these axles are quite high even by Toyota standards. Having said that, I've been down the Autozone axle road before and didn't want go go there again and again and again and again, lol (seemingly further worsened by virtue of having a lifted vehicle). Ended up ordering the boot kit from Toyota, it took a couple hours (hardest part is separating the axle from the bearing apparatus but a Pitman arm puller worked--- but just replaced the boots, packed some fresh grease and its been good for a couple years so far.
