Need some wiring knowledge as I’m slowly learning automotive electrical.

    2021 TRD Sport

Im installing a Baja Designs S8 20” 70-2013 with harness 64-0122 behind the grille and there’s two things I need help with.

    1. I have a Caliraised OEM switch but don’t know what wiring configuration ties the BD harness into the Caliraised switch as there’s only 3 wires on the BD switch and 4 on Caliraised. (See attached)

    2. I would like to tap into a fuse for the backlight that would stay on only when ignition is on (taillight/drl add a fuse or something). BD has a rocker switch integrated into the harness which turns the backlight on and off which obviously is annoying af if you forget it on. It is a red and green wire +\-. How do I wire an add a fuse to that and what fuse do you tap into?

If I figure this shit out I’ll make a step by step thread how to do

    Hello LukeHugo19,
Your second photo is how you want to wire it; however, for the backlight function you are going to want fuse taps and if that does not work a splice connector is fine as well.
We do sell a harness that will work great for this, if you want to make your own, here is our kit for reference.

Also, here is a link to a more detailed explanation of the backlight harness:

I hope this helps answer your question, if not let me know.

    Best,
    Brock Brunkhorst
