I scored a full set of Pelfrybilt aluminum skids on Craigslist a couple years ago, finally got around installing them. Rear skid is gonna require drilling the frame so not sure it's worth the hassle. I am not doing any hard core rock crawling, just overland adventure type stuff so protecting the front half and gas tank seems sufficient. But is the frame easier to drill than I think it is gonna be?

Drilling the frame will void your chance at a rusty frame replacement down the line if it ever comes to it.

If you're not rock crawling you should be plenty fine.

I have full steel skids an usually only have the front one on then put the trans and transfer on when I plan a big trip because you never know but the vast vast majority of my scratches and gouges are on my engine plate trans and transfer are relatively unscathed.

Really your exhaust cross over under the transfer is your literal low hanging fruit.

Re route your exhaust and sell the last skid IMHO unless you want to roll on rocks later.

Thanks, did not even consider the warranty implications.

Being plastic, I protected my gas tank with a victory 4 x 4 skid plate. I had to drill one hole and enlarge another. I also like the fact that this skid plate is solid which will make drilling it do you steal gas a lot more difficult.
