I could do that on my KLR, my 750GS and my 250L. I absolutely suck at tight figure eights on my 1250R, for some reason the balance at super low speed is just all off to me.

Nice! That cave looks cool to ride through. What's the story behind the photo with the police vehicle?

that requires seat time off road. Far beyond gravel.

it def was, it used to have two steam engines going through it. Discontinued in the 80’s.

the cops made a mistake and pulled us over thinking we didn’t have plates/weren’t legal. They actually apologized to us lol

I looked at this bike last weekend: Very well maintained but also has been raced in enduros and hare scrambles, so it's seen a hard life already. We settled on $8400 if I get it.

Looking at this one this weekend, 150 miles, only 8 hours on it. Basically show room condition but not used much due to an injury, agreed on $8k. Either way I am likely buying one of these this weekend.

Yeah as long as it is on the up and up, I am likely going with that one. Then it's a blank slate I can mod how I want. The beauty is that I can build it up while I still beat on the DRZ till the Husky is fully skidded and ready. THen I can focus on cleaning the DRZ up to sell.

Lol yea I realllly wanted to get a v-strom with the money but reality kinda hit me that I would literally never get to ride it. The only day I go into the office I take my dog, so that's out. Half my short trips are dropping my kid off to daycare. And if I have free time I am out riding in the dirt or working in the garage.

So I am thinking NWF box, plasma cutter, and maybe an FJ80 full float rear if I can track one down.

I had been eyeing the Duke 790 when I upgraded from the 390 but even that is a bit of a step. And then when they discontinued it for the 890 that was more of a jump than I wanted to make, especially with the inflated price tag and stuff like a quick shifter being an option instead of standard like on the 790.

All in all I am very happy with the step up to the FZ/MT-07, I commute on the freeway a bit to work in the summer so I wanted to get away from the thumper and on to something that was a little bit smoother even though it's not near a 4 cylinder bike.

Man, you read my mind, I've been heavily looking at MT07s recently as a next bike for that exact reason. Utah is all 70-80mph Freeways too so I'm way up in 6th just trying to participate in traffic on my 390. Thankfully I only have a 1 exit interval to go up.

But I also have the itch to go ADV and find a Tenere 700 or 850GS.

Utah uses KSL Classifieds instead of Craigslist. Lots more options there, but none that have really inspired me to take action.

I'll hold onto the bike for this season and maybe trade up in the spring.

Townys were little 49cc moped-y things. Honda had a version of them, too, forget what they were called though. That guy did a half ass hub motor conversion, bummer he didn't go with a bigger motor to get closer to 35mph. Looks like a dog hiked up trying to poo with those longer shocks in the back :poking:

I wasnt looking specifically, but its cool that its an option! If I was ever in that situation, I would probably just walk away, or try a different line

@4x4Runner showed me a wheel mounted winch and Ive seen the standard style one.
Edit: it doesnt mount anywhere, it looks like a strap goes around the forks

Similar to this, but on a motorcycle

Ahhh gotcha. You could always pull a "that 5000lb winch is a waste of money" option and go with something like this:

    https://bestrestproducts.com/shop/recovery-gear-mrs-system/motorcycle-recovery-system-mrs/

3:1 mechanical advantage with what's included in it.
