Smoked Chex Mix. Used a bag of original Chex Mix with a stick of butter, smoked low for 2.5 hours.

    Smoked Cheez Its.
Smoked cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios and Corn Flakes) with nuts (peanuts and cashews) using one mild, one spicy seasoning from a coworker recipe. Smoked low with butter for 2.5 hours.

Hillshire thin sliced honey ham. Cold smoked using only my smoke tube for 30 minutes to add flavor to my lunch sandwich.

First time doing snack. Honestly, I probably went overboard on the butter. I will def try this again. My coworkers ate a whole bag in couple hours.
The cereal and cheez its were second try. I must say the cereal was my fav.

I think Lays BBQ chips would be awesome to try.

Good to hear. That what it's all about though right - trial and error? I'm sure you'll get the chex mix dialed in if you try it a few more times. Next time I have my smoker fired up I'll have to give it a try as well.

Anyone here use, or has any insight, on a Yoder Cheyenne? My local bbq shop has them in stock and I've been looking to upgrade from my tin can Dyna-Glo. I get awesome results from it but it's a bear to manage the temperature with the small firebox and the thin steel. The days I can actually use it are limited because it's windy AF where I live and it's tough to manage the temp and I end up using a ton of fuel.

I'm in Canada so I have far less options for solid offsets. That's why I'm interested in the Yoder.

    Here's my little Dyna-Glo.

I had a different brand but same style, i put bricks in bottom of bigger side with a pizza oven stone covering the coal box hole. Pushing the heat to the other side. Helped immensly

I've tried all the tricks but the thin metal the toughest to overcome.

Like I said... I've been able to make it work and make some amazing stuff but I'm pretty much babysitting it every 10 or 15 minutes to keep things consistent.

To that end I may as well make my own smoker. Ha.

Even if I managed to roll up some 10ga steel to line it with the combined thickness is still less than a decent smoker. This thing is flimsy.

I paid $200 for it. Have had it for three years. Learned a ton with it. Not worth it to me to keep trying to jury rig it into a better smoker. It owes me nothing.

That's a great idea. Even though mine holds temp and heat well, it would probably improve with some bricks. Thanks for the idea!

We always need a decent reason to throw money at new toys. Sometimes not even a decent reason, just one you can slide by the wife.
