    Hi,

I'm about to order one of these but can't decide which one. I really like the idea of the Stance so that I can raise it vertically if needed (probably not very often) but I'm not thrilled about the mounts that go on the roof of the cab. For those with the Stance, does it seem that too much weight/pressure is pushing down on the metal/seals when vertical? Can it be used folded like the regular Lomax (not vertical) when driving? I found the instructions online but they don't say if it can or not.

What about the finish options? I'm leaning toward the urethane finish for durability and I like the darker black color plus the unfinished edges of the matte black might bother me (or might not). However, is it too shiny? Is the texture large enough to trap dirt much easier and also harder to clean?

    Many thanks!

    Regarding the above post
I was one of the first ones in this thread to get one (May 2019). So, I have the regular, not the Stance. I can tell you in three years of use I have never had the need to raise that last panel and if I did need to I'd probably just remove the whole thing. It can come completely off in 30-45 secs. Other than that I can't comment on how well the Stance works. Looks nice.
I have never really noticed any unfinished edges to worry about. It's very easy to clean...I just wash it with the same car wash I use for the rest of the truck. Also mine still looks as good as the day I got it! Hope something I said helps in your decision!

I will answer what I can for you...

As to whether you will use it not that's really depending on your usual cargo of course. Honestly most folks don't use the flip up feature as much as they think they will.

The retaining brackets on the roof are small and use 3M and magnets to mount so no damage and they aren't noticeable from the ground on any installation we have done. But again if you don't like them totally understandable.

The Stance can be use in the 2/3rd folded position while driving just like the other models.

I don't think the urethane finish is too shiny and its my favorite finish for sure due to durability. Again though that's a personal preference on finish. There are some great pics in this thread of the various finishes.

    Thank you!!

I tend to like the uerthane also. Does it collect a lot of dirt because of the texture and is it hard to clean? I'm maybe thinking too much of the spary on bedliner products. Those can be pretty tough to clean.

They have far less texture than a typical spray in bedliner...I haven't heard issues with folks keeping them clean.

I am getting ready to place my order for a Lomax cover for my SR, but I have a question about using it during the winter. Has anyone had any issues with their Lomax cover related to cold weather? I am concerned that opening and closing the cover in 30 degree or colder weather may hurt the rubber joints between the panels, i.e. cause them to start cracking. Thanks.

In all the units we have sold we haven't heard of this being an issue but I will let others answer their personal experience...

While I have rarely folded mine all the way open in the winter I am typically opening the back panel at least weekly. No issues but I do garage at night, I keep the garage at 45° F.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your truck is below freezing 24/7.
