Just ordered mine last Wednesday, with 2 extra crossbars (because, why not?)

    Can’t wait!!

For those that have installed one of these, any downside to just leaving the roof drip molding seal off (instead of cutting a hole) other than slightly “unfinished” look?

Probably not a bad idea. When the re-sale prices quadruple on these racks you can sell and have nice, un-butchered weather strips. Those things are spendy. Something like 60 bucks per side.

leaving them off you will probably be the only one who notices, on my wife's tacoma i decided to straight up cut it straight across rather than drill - made my life way easier - think i may have used a little silicone to hold down any 'edges' - has been fine for a few years

Thanks all, that was my thought as well. Since I’m the only one who would ever notice, as long as there isn’t a functional downside to just leaving them off, I’ll probably do that to save time and also have an intact piece in case I ever remove the rack.

I haven’t received the rack yet (it’s only been 2 weeks since order date) so I can’t comment on what comes with it, but based on previous posts it looks like people are sourcing the weatherstrip elsewhere. I just picked one up via Amazon. Product was linked in an earlier post.

Thanks for the side pics. Helps to see how far back each rack goes. I have a standalone wedge on top of a bed rack, so not quite as easy as just picking GFC or Vagabond

Finally received the "go-ahead" from the wife to throw down for a roof rack once the tax check comes in and I think I'm leaning toward the Martin rack. Has anyone had any issues with it clearing the shark fin? I don't have a lightbar for it yet but has anyone had issues with the cut out without a bar? Extra wind noise, drag, etc.?

The Tacoma rack has been updated to accommodate the antenna on the newer models . Some slight wind noise is to be expected when adding a light bar but you shouldn't notice any additional wind noise with the cutout over the standard without the light bar installed.

Reminder anyone with a 2nd gen with after market rail caps, you will need the one for the Gfc with the cut outs.

Yup, same here. Have drifter on a dclb. Had mine a year before install and did not have the one for GFC. Contacted Gage. Of course He knew what needed to be done. Returned the ones I had and he sent the replacement ones. Perfect fit!

I think I'm in for a rack. If you order the standard 5 cross bars does one of them get used up for mounting the wind deflector? So if I want more than 4 cross bars for mounting all the things I would need to choose an option for additional bars?
