The rear brakes

Hey guys, check this out, the new 2008 dakota have now rear drum brakes, before the 2005 model has 4 wheel disc brakes , so I don't know if they do it because it's better or if because it's more cheaper. There must be a good reason. And why the dakota extended cab is very long compared to the tacoma access cab? The bed is approximately the same, maybe because the front is more longer?

 

I'm sure since Toyota's are #1 in sales, there probably just following Toyota's lead. However, my guess is Dodge ultimately made the decision to switch back to drums due to the cheaper production costs.
