Yes ..Hawaii Recon…Sometimes it is…and every island will have there own rules and policies….which makes it a even bigger “joke”…. When shipping inter-island ..it does cause some issues..

I remember when I lifted my first truck..many years ago…I was required to have a reverse beeper…. What I did is add a switch…to be able to turn it on/off….I pass every safety check..

Imagined..if every state laws requires every lifted truck ..to have a reverse beepers..
    (back up cameras!..Da-best)
    Aloha

To see where flaps protect draw a line from bottom of tire to bottom of flap, anything above that line is protected area and don't forget when mounting flaps the front wheels turn.

If you've ever had an aluminum enclosed trailer you'd appreciate this type of flap. Made one that I could attach and remove when pulling.

Wow …to draw the a line from the bottom of tire, to bottom of the flap…? seems simple…? To see the area the mud flaps covers for protection…?
Making a graph..X to X …. I reminds me of the Peter principle……everything has a curve…where it reaches the max ..then diminish… if mounting the mud flaps to high or to low mounting..
Trying to find the best coverage for a mud flap? Will the speed be a factor? Pushing the softer mud flaps back as the speed increases..there for covering less area…creating more debris been attach to body of the truck? What would be best speed and stiffness of mud flaps needed at those higher speeds..to keep it protected?

So far ..I am loss …where to put my line? I know ..”dumb”…a common trait…
Just kidding here…..what happens in reversing..where to put that line?
    Aloha

I just put mine on. Mostly did it to protect the paint. My side steps are paint less and rusted in the areas where the gravel hits. It is only a matter of time for the truck's paint to start failing too.

Tufskins mud flaps….Perfect fit.. the right height to me , very stiff plastic type material , I like the hardness..Super easy install ..2019 Tacoma, just two holes, first existing nut re-use , remove the plastic push button, use two Stainless screws with nuts 2.5 inch long…
    Sorry no pictures…

I highly recommend the Tufskins, Amazon. I would buy them again! Perfect fit, Very easy install!
    Not a rubber material…very stiff , yet can flex…

having mudflaps is a lot less selfish than those without. Ever get a crack in your windshield from someone with no mudflaps?

That being said, the stock mudflaps suck for anything other than stock config or for the rear if you aren’t rock crawling. Rekgen and some other brands on Amazon make much more ideal flaps for offroading sessions and you can still respectful to those behind you on the freeway.

    image.jpg
the fronts are some random brand from Amazon (I spent $15) and rigged them up by drilling my own holes from Amazon and allow 33” tires no prob (pictured with 32’s)

    the rears are stock

Those Rekgens mud flaps? Boy it really looks identical to the Tufskins mud flaps? Off course just looking at pictures is not the same as side by side.. but holes multiple slots ( cut outs) front and rears, the shapes?
I am wondering made by the same manufacturer? Tufskins $80.00 , Rekgens $140.00?

Rekgens has there name on the bottoms, Tufskins says in red , 4x4.

Caveat Emptor, Let the buyers be ware…..
Kona, Hawaii land area can only produce 3 millions pounds of pure (real) Kona coffee, each year.
According to the Hawaii Tax Department, 20 million pounds of pure Kona Coffee is sold each year?

We have a law allowing 10% of pure Kona coffee be blended, and the packages can sell it as , 10% blend Kona coffee. Pure Kona coffee prices can reach over $100.00 per pound. Most are $40- $90 per pound.

That means 17 million pounds of (who know’s where/ what?) coffee is being label as Pure Kona Coffee.
Note here , Not every Kona coffee tastes the same, processing , drying methods, elevations, locations, roasting methods, will effects the taste. The prime belt is only 5 miles by 20 miles consider best growing conditions. We are located in the belt.

We always see trucker’s delivering coffee from South American to coffee mills for making Kona coffee blends..
You can see on those huge bags , label Peru, etc…

Well guess how many of those coffee mills are selling real pure Kona coffee? Hawaii is mostly Arabic coffee, South America is mostly Arabic coffee.

if you every visit Big island of Hawaii , home of the pure Kona coffee, “Caveat Emptor”. Buyers’ be aware!
    Even mail orders.

I live and work on a private estate, approx 20+ acres of coffee trees. My wife’s family’s, I am just a part time labor. Able to drink pure Kona coffee every morning, 2-4 cups, only exception is when we are in “ Las Vegas “ known to us as the Ninth Island, they say up to 40,000 people visit Vegas every month…
    Aloha

I'm looking for a set of Marvin the martian "Give me space!" Mudflaps. I would run flaps, I've only got 3 because one ripped off, hence wanting to replace them with flexible rubber
