2017 Tacoma TRD Sport, DRL Module for Full Time/Defeat Off Position? From USA to Canada

Help,

I have a 2017 Tacoma I bought new in 2017 in WA State. Just failed the BC provincial inspection since my tacoma can turn of the DRL's in the off position. Go figure. Went to the local Toyota service department and they were of little help. Searching I see members who've re-wired the DRL relay but I would prefer to just get a module or flash the ECU if possible.

Any suggestions? I'm concerned of doing something wrong with wiring and burning down my truck.

Does the Taco you have the LED DRL's?

 

Loads of shops know how to wire in DRLs

Also, most people up here wire in the DRLs to simply be all markers, pass the OOP/OOC and then remove it and leave it on "auto" for the rest of its life.

They look like little bulbs and are not overly bright. Not thinking they are LED, but could be wrong..... 2017 manual access cab 4x4 sport

Yes they seem the LED type. You could PM @kmorgan3 , have him assemble and sell you a temp/permanent solution like so:

A C11 harness modified to provide a bypass to the light switch on the DRL position.
position #20 is the DRL select on.

DRL only turns ON after vehicle on and parking brake is released.

 

The Sport came with LED DRL in 2017.

 

Where does the wiring harness diagram come from? I've got the pdf service manual now.
