Avoid AlphaRex

Their support page is a total joke and extremely unhelpful. I requested a warranty or even just a part replacement on their Pro-series headlights for my 2011 tacoma. They told me word for word “the wearable item is not under warranty. Sorry for the inconvenience.” When I sent an email back asking why, lets just say its been about 5 days with pictures and 3 days with a follow up.

the picture you see is of the halogen bulbs that came with the headlights. When I first received them and installed them, the low beam passenger side light would stay on for a few days then just go out for about an hour or two then come back on for a day or two. So I thought, what if its just the bulb? Strange, but bought some new bulbs and replaced both of them.

The next picture is the new bulb, a lot more arcing and blackening plus a little slag.

So I had the same situation bulb would go in and out. When I saw this happening to the new bulb I took a closer look at the wiring harness and yeah, that wiring harness is completely melted. I sent them these photos and they have been ignoring me since. They did give me a reference to a new harness that I had to order myself. I’m not even sure if the connector is going to be the same piece, but I’ll add a picture of it. I still have not received the new harness yet and it has been 5 days since I ordered it.

Maybe I can save the headache for others, but if you decide to buy some AlphaRex headlights and you have a problem with it, good-luck dealing with their shady support and unhelpful support team.

 

Never even heard of them....

 

That sure does suck. Almost looks like a fire hazard waiting to happen.
