    Hey Everyone,

So I've had my 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road for about two weeks when a delivery truck (a Ford Transit) nicked by drivers side back end. He was coming around a corner and didn't see me, pretty much rolled into me and wasnt going fast at all.

He hit my back end driver side and there was no visible damage at all. Because the Ford Transit slouches down at the front I think his plastic bumper either hit my wheel well plastic cover or even my tire. There was a slight bump and my truck rocked a bit, but I check around and under with no apparent damage.

Drove for a bit and it seems fine, nothing is moving when I shake the box and the tires look fine. I did notice gaps in my hood are different but I cant see how that would be from a rear driver side kiss to my tire/wheel well area.

Again no visible damage except for maybe a small scratch on the plastic.

Am I over thinking/reacting? I would think these are tough trucks that can take a small push like that. He was literally just rolling out into the intersection probably only had maybe 5 or 6 feet between me and him when he started.

    Thanks.

No dents = no harm, no foul. Body panels almost never come from the factory perfectly aligned.

You got lucky, no damage, take the win and enjoy it.

Check under the hood if you haven't already. Make sure your battery didn't move & look for hairline cracks in the alternator, water pump etc. Weight & inertia can lead to damage in unexpected places. If you didn't get his info you won't have recourse anyway.

Way over thinking it. If you see no visible damage, then there is any. Your lucky...

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Just took it out for an hour or so to check for weird noises, make sure the 4WD works, took it for an empty parking lot and did some sharp circle turns. Seems to be just fine!!

Gonna take it on the highway tomorrow and check for leaks in the morning (were none that I saw after it sitting for a good few hours this afternoon). I think I lucked out and glad I wasn't in my old car.

Also checked under the hood and the battery didnt shift and couldnt see any cracks but I'll have another look tomorrow before I head out.

I'm sure the other driver will be relieved too lol

Gonna look at this as good luck rather than bad. Cant wait to take it on some trails and do some bush camping this summer!! Have a great weekend all!!

Lol what car did you drive that had a cracked alternator from a fender bender??

    WAY over thinking this.

OP you're fine. If the sheet metal didn't even get damaged no way any (far more robust) mechanical components were affected.
