My big brake rotor is rubbing my gusset spindle slightly. So I put in the 2 spindle shims that came with my SOS big brake system. Now the rotor clears the gusset spindle. But is the 2 shims causing the hub to not seat tight enough? Anyone else have this issue? how did you fix it.

So is it still rubbing? Looks like they take the place of the normal backing plate thickness or close to it so you wouldn't change much of anything as far as I can see.

It’s not rubbing anymore. But I’m using 2 spacers and the dust shield. You only soppose to use the dust shield or 1 spacer.

if its only contacting that little itty bit, I'd probably just take a flap wheel and grinder to the area its rubbing and remove a bit of material from the gusset so you cans seat the wheel bearing without stacking spacers.

    SCSPerformance and Key-Rei like this.

I talk to Tom at sos performance. He said it should be fine. I'll just put some water sealant on the outside of the stack spacers

I was going to suggest the same. With my willwood setup my gussets were rubbing the caliper mount and I shaved off the end of it so it would fit. The backing plate was also rubbing (this could be what your seeing). I pulled it to bend it and even cut out a relief in the backing plate. Still rubbed a bit but did not affect performance.

Are you running the 323 or the 340 Stoptech setup? If you on the 340 you can upgrade to the T4R backing plates which may help. I still had to modify and bend them a bit.

Yeah I trimmed almost all of the dust shield off. It was getting in the way
