Been watching this guys channel for awhile because he’s hilarious and noticed they had a Tacoma in for the third brake light warranty today. Was shocked to see the extent they have to go to remove the mold and mildew from these leaks.

Wow, I guess it’s better to catch the leak early on. That’s a lot work.

I’ve seen Tacomas sitting at the dealer with the entire rear seat, headliner, sound deadening, etc. in the bed because of the third brake light

Can anyone tell me what to watch out for? Just got a 2022 and I don’t want to deal with this at all.

My 2016 had never leaked but I went ahead and scheduled to have the service done since I had a day off work. My third light started leaking for the first first time just a few days before the appointment

2022 should not have the problem. I believe 2019+ are not affected.

My 2019 was included in the fix list but I never experienced any leaks or issues. (Manufactured October 2018 I believe? Bought in March 2019) Dealer didn't find any issues when inspecting and I got the updated seal/bezel thing when they were done.

Same, no leaks, it damn sure wasn’t gonna wait til I had massive issues l, especially since they didn’t need to remove the interior for what is hopefully The Fix.
