I should just make this the thread documenting the 95, 98 and 02 taco fixins. 95 has a bed i found it... soon

98 getting a frame
02 getting a frame... yea.. fun stuff.

 

Oh, that's a very large hole in the frame you got there. I still find it so funny a tacoma can look so pretty and you look under just to find a fist sized rust hole in the frame

 

They could have saved a lot of money if they color matched the frame to the bodies haha

 

Just have a rust sized hole in the bed and it make the truck match perfectly

 

We will have a frame next Monday. photo from the guy bringing it.

(yes he likes toyotas too) hes also bringing my mr2 transmission.. so thats nice.



frame needs a nice coat of paint. but its solid. very solid.

 

i also have a bed for the 1995.(i've had it..but weather hasnt been playing nice to swap it over)

parts truck coming too to donate its frame to the 1998 as well as a lot of suspension goodies and an ARB bumper for the other trucks.. more to come on that one on the 15th

Frame for the red trucks here. waiting for proper weather and free time to line up so i can sand blast and paint it.. and the bed is offically off the 95. minor frame repair needs to be done then im taking it to my body guy to have the cab corner fixed and paint the cab where it needs to be. really leaning on doing retro ivan iron man t100 graphics on this truck.


as for the red one, after frame swap. it will likely end up for sale. because i have WAY too many tacomas. frame swap, fresh suspension, replace the rotted rocker, bedline the lower 1/4 of the body, and replace the tailgate is on the books for that one. oh and fixing the engine leaks while its out of the truck. it'll be a good truck for someone else at this point. i will drive it a bit after the swap just to make sure all is well though.

 

i also have a 2001 parts truck. but it seems to be donating all its parts to my fathers truck

the front suspension will be going on the 95. and i have pre taco alloy 15" wheels going on said 95.



this thread apparently will be the catch all for my other tacos. the 98 will probably get its own thread once i start on it.. the 95 likely will once its "fixed"

ouch, that one hurt! its only got one clunker on it. the others are getting fixed. LOL

 

bumper off the wreck. seems to be fine other than the dents on the bull bar and potentially tweaked at one corner. i can order the bumper brackets i need and the rubber absorbers + turn signals that are broken for ~200-250. so the 95 will be getting armor i guess.


may not be the prettiest bumper. but it did indeed save this truck and its frame by the looks of it.

 

20 cylinders and around 900k miles all running in this photo (over 1 million if you count the truck laying dormant in the distance.)


And I put the pre taco wheels on the 95. Put the 95 wheels on the 02

 

The white 95 is my fav I think.
Wish you could swap to RC and stuff an 8’ bed on it.

 

Lol. It has a bed now. I just need to straighten out the left wing of the arb to get it mounted and get the 95 over to the frame shop to tweak the driver side frame rail

 

What about an updated photo board in the first post with each rig, the year, and current status/plan? That would help the rest of us keep them straight. I'd almost do it for mine but I don't have any fans like Dan does.
