Man I hate the low life pieces of crap that seem to be more prolific by the day.

From the vehicle itself to the catalytic converters, gas, and wheels.....I'm nervous to take my eyes off my truck unless it's safe in my garage anymore.

Shitty man, I'm in F-town too. Surprising for it to happen in that parking lot especially. Often times there's a cop just sitting/chilling in that parking lot.. as others have mentioned get the Stant locking gas cap, I've had it for 3 years no issues. Did you leave the truck in the parking lot overnight?

edit: thinking of the wrong parking lot... if I'm thinking right thats the one all the USA parkway folks use... that's actually a perfect spot for people to do this unfortunately. I'd advise parking closer to the businesses/safeway lot on top of the locking gas cap.

Next time put E85 in there, that will teach ‘em!

Edit: Actually now that I think of it…that may not be a bad idea, keep a 5 gallon jug of E85 in the bed, they’ll most likely grab that instead of siphoning it out of the truck…

That sucks!!! I thought they had an insert in the filler tubes to prevent this?? But I feel your pain. My company truck got hit at a hotel I was at and I lost $4000.00 and a change in tools and nail bags! Hanging is too good for thieves

Adding a locking gas cap. Helps , but they are easy to removed, just a screw driver?
I did purchase a locking gas cap for my 1999 ford ranger, as mention above , throws codes! Ended up removing it , put the factory one back on.
    Aloha,

Stealing is a habit, just like cheating and lying. To break a habit is to change it with another habit.
These thieves finds stealing earns them more benefits then working a actual job. Earning money from working is a good habit, greater benefits , the money earn , buys more then just gas? Just that many find working a job requires work?

The funny part is the thieves steal the gas , for the car/ truck they stolen. Once caught? Free housing, meals and medical. Early release, they get to do it all over again.

“Us” the people still working everyday, hoping our truck is still there where we left it, and the gas is still in it….every single day.
    Aloha,

Just a side note: No school in America teaches “ How to work” ..I will not get into more detail?
But every employee expect you to know how?

I use those skills for keeping my job, pay raises, , promotions, getting great referrals.
Those thieves uses almost the same skills ?

Hint , When you study what makes people “Successful “ the answer is right there!
    Aloha

    They don't exist.

Every one I've seen you can just grab with channel locks push down hard and twist them off almost as easy as a normal cap.

I got the highest quality one I could off the shelf from an auto parts store a few years back. Hasn’t caused any codes to pop but maybe my older 1st gen is more tolerant of an aftermarket gas cap. Dunno

Fallon, NV? Damn. Sorry this happened. Better than replacing a tank.

Hell, the only thing to do in Fallon is drink and screw….and pigs in space night on Wednesday. Lmao. Guess that has changed.

Pretty soon we’re gonna need gas tank skids to prevent drilling aren’t we? Already have the cat shields out there
