@razhick4x4 my bad. Didn't even think of that. I have wireless charging on my phone, so it's never an issue for me.

You're good:thumbsup:. it's not an issue for the majority of people because most people have upgraded their phone since 2016:p. I'm just a cheap bastard:D! i actually had planned on hanging on to this phone for a good bit longer until i found out that Apple was releasing a second gen SE. not sure when i'll upgrade but hopefully before this summer. i'm moving to the Bozeman area (or at least planning to) and want to get something a little more reliable, since stuff's a little further apart out there.

anyways.... bringing it back on topic;):D:

the Bluetooth OBDII scanners are a great option for most ppl, but given my circumstances i'm just looking for something that i can rely upon a bit more.

Which of the trans temps shows the pan fluid temp from the 2016+ 3.5l options (TF1 vs TF2)? I just set it up in my 2020 OR and TF1 was going up way quicker than engine oil temp (not what I'm used to). Just setup TF2 and have not had time to test out yet.

No clue about 3rd gens, but in general the pan temp will remain fairly constant once warm. Compared to the torque converter temp which will fluctuate a lot based whether or not its locked up.

Thanks. Realized I did a noob thing of posting in the wrong forum. Got too excited that there was a post actually dedicated to SGII.

I've had one in my Tacoma for about 4 years now and love it. I display MPH, IAT, TRANS TEMP, and WATER TEMP. I will post pics when I get a chance of the custom mount I made. I did sent it in for the update a few years ago but turn around was very fast and well worth it.

Does the scan gauge 2 display MPG’s on a 1996 Tacoma?

As long as it has an obd2 port (which a 96 should), you will have the mpg calculation. Worked in my old '96 volvo. They should have a compatibility and PID list on their website.

Yup. My ScanGauge II runs both MPG and Trans temps (pan and TC) for my 2014 AT

Coming soon - as I learn
    Greetings,

I have the ScanGauge II and really like it. After playing the X-Gauges, have three 'sets' of information to cycle through. TPMS, Temps, and FUEL. I wish they had a "PAGE" feature where your favorites could be cycled through easily and the others ignored. That's a feature request, not a complaint.

    Taco On!

I have a 2017 Tacoma with the 2.7 liter 4-cylinder and 6-speed automatic transmission. I am looking for the Scangauge codes to read 'Current Gear' and have not been successful in finding them. I did find codes that work for 'Torque Converter Lockup (ON/OFF)' and two transmission fluid temps (one pan, one in the torque converter). I'm sure there are codes for gear position but I have not found any that work (yet!). Thanks! - Robert

    I added a bolt once...
I had and Ultragauge an liked it. The mount failed and the gauge fell between the drivers dash and door... Slam, screen go dead...

I now have a $22 OBD bluetooth reader and $5 Torque Pro app on an old Android phone. That does what I need for now.
