4 flounders (caught another on the way out of the lease). A speckled trout and a red fish. Lost the biggest flounder so far this season trying to put him on the stringer.

Lanier used to fish soooo much better in the 80's & 90's. Really gone down hill since the floods we have had since 09 combined with underfunded lake management and poor project management from the COE. Heck they used to stock big rainbow trout in it prior to the giant stripers!

 

Haven't had much time to fish this year but have a couple trips planned for the Eastern Sierras later this year. Just picked up this bfs setup to throw some lighter baits with a baitcaster.



Hope to show off some fish I catch on this thing pretty soon!

Here's my latest video kayak fishing on Lake Erie on a Vibe Shearwater 125. Water is cold, so I'm wearing the drysuit. Caught a few Walleye trolling crankbaits right off the bottom. I hope you enjoy the video!

Fished a little local tournament this past weekend (Northeast Florida Veterans Appreciation Surf Fishing Tournament) out of 100+ registered I ended up 4th overall for the 3 pompano aggregate field but missed the money by 6oz. Tough day of fishing but I managed to land more than most, money raised was for a great cause and I’ve got dinner for a few nights to come.

 

I hate people some times, found 3 separate bundles of fishing line in a wetlands nature preserve…

I catch n release all of my catches not to say there’s anything wrong with keeping what’s legal just my own personal decision

Another outing on Lake Erie, and this time I found some chunky yellow perch relating to an underwater intake (freshwater intake for the city) in 20 feet of water. The conditions deteriorated after a few hours and the wind shifted from southeast to east and kicked up the chop. Landed 3 and lost at least 5 on a Rapala Jigging Rap.

so this happened over the weekend while I was targeting panfish on the glass 3wt. That thing bull dogged the fuck outta me! What a nerve racking fight this was.
