Didn't find anyone post a similar issue. As the title states, CEL and Traction Control-Off dash lights came on. CEL code is P0022. After 20 miles with 3 stops, both lights went off. Oil is clean, good quality and at the correct level. Filter and oil were changed 1k ago. I never touched the traction control button. Truck does not drive rough and gas mileage has not gone down.

If it doesn't come back on, I'll probably ignore it. What do you all think? The traction control turning off at the same time seemed odd.

The Trac Off coming on with an engine fault is perfectly normal because the traction control system relies on the engine control system to be working properly.

Most likely either the bank 2 VVT oil control valve is sticking or the screen for the valve is dirty.

Thanks for the info! This is my first truck with a traction control system that didn't involve getting out and locking hubs. Learned something new!

Basically what the traction control system does is reduce engine power to limit wheel slip when it is detected, there's several different modes the traction system can be put in as outlined in the thread below.
Your truck also has stability control which uses steering angle, wheel speed, and acceleration sensors to determine if the vehicle is travelling in the direction the driver intends, if it determines it is not it will apply individual brakes and/or reduce engine power to attempt to correct it. When either system activates the slip indicator on the dash will flash and you may notice reduced power and/or feel the ABS pump operating.

Try replacing the Purge Control Solenoid on upper drivers side near oil fill spout , cost about $50. I did mine an it worked !

Kinda curious how replacing a purge solenoid would fix a timing code, I could see it potentially fixing an EVAP problem but not engine timing.
