nice. Fond memories of SD. Through there quite a bit in the late 80’s. Lots of road trippin’ all over the lower 48 and I often tell the tale that an early morning traverse of Wind Cave NP was one of the most transcendent moments I’ve ever experienced anywhere. I mean that. Did all the usual stuff. Rushmore, Badlands, wall drug, got up to Williston before the boom when it was a couple gas stations and a comfort Inn on the prairie, even got to play the corn palace. liked it a lot, and now I understand the weather comments better.

Loved wind cave NP! Didn’t even know about it until the host at the campground told us about it.

I skipped Rushmore, but badlands and wall drug were awesome

Been there several times! My youngest brother was even into caving for a few years. I said no thanks, but he is skinnier than me and barely scraped through a lot of those tunnels. Crazy beautiful out there!

Badlands is tripping on the bike. You ride through one way with the light at one angle, stop to make a sandwich, ride back the other way and it feels like you’re on another planet just from the different angles and lighting.

Recommended ride for sure. As well as up to Sylvan Lake.

Nice! It's rare to see a BSA in such great condition.

@Doc Samson If you decide to get rid of your Triumph here is a XSR 900 that you could probably scoop up for a decent price -

If you don't mind being a few hours away from a big city, it's great. Oh, and aside from the like month a year that you can't breathe because of the wildfires haha. Lots of recreation, lots of small quiet towns, lots of open roads. I came here for college and then never left.

As long as the wife had a place to work medically we’re all set. I plan to work from a home shop again eventually. Thanks!

hey David and Everyone, I’ll be out for a while unfortunately. I crashed pretty hard couple weeks ago. Planned to check in at some point but it’s been a lot to process and still feels surreal.

I was riding the FZ had the right of way and car pulled out in front of me last minute, hit going about 45mph.

Wearing full gear as always…injuries are broken right femur, fractured right shoulder, dislocated left elbow, and two broken thumbs. Zero road rash.

Already had surgery to put a rod and screws in my leg. I’m currently at a rehab facility and feeling better each day, walking and making good progress. Still need surgery on my left hand.

I’ll tell the full story when time allows and it’s easier to type. Stay safe out there my friends, and you are all a huge of piece my inspiration to get back out riding. Thank you for any well wishes in advance, I know I’ll be slow to respond ❤️

For some reason I wanna say he's
Man you'd hate where I live now then lol. Ambulances/Police/Fire Trucks going by at all times of day. I truly don't understand how there's so many instances. Since I moved in back in November, I've heard at least one siren every day, and I'm not even home the whole time.

Where I lived before this though was awesome. Very suburban, almost to the point of rural. Plenty of trees and space between houses, no road noise let alone sirens. Just the occasional loud motorcycle/sports car you would hear revving it out. The only drawback was that the nearest convenience store was about a 15 minute drive. Now, I can walk to the end of my block.

Shit. Glad you're alive and recovering, couple of those injuries sound real bad. You got this!
