She has double hip dysplasia, an elbow joint disease on one side and arthritis. I drive like a granny when she’s in the car. But thanks for your helpful insights.

I have a seat cover that goes in place in about 3 minutes. I had a canopy style, but the front part torn, so I went to just a cover that covers the seat and back. That way my daughter can ride with our dogs also. I vacuum it out and when it gets really dirty/muddy, I wash it in the washing machine. It helps that I have Standard Poodles as they don't shed. Also, if you are going on long trips, buckle them in.

I cannot abide the hair. No way do they get in the cab with me.

4Runner, tethered in back cargo area with rear window down, all other windows closed for hair suction (sucks to drive behind me):

Tacoma, tethered to rear D rings in bed, with a bed mat for traction:

The one time they got to ride in the cab of a vehicle with me was a rental U-Haul and we did 3,000 miles in it. If I cracked my window there was a hairnado that blew across my face for 6 minutes straight. When I turned the truck in, it took me half an hour to vacuum the hair, and it filled my shop vac. These guys ain't no joke when it comes to follicles.

My only concern is eventually needing a second kennel when the the puppy is full size and out of the back seat. I haven’t seen many ideas for getting 2 intermediates to fit. One person was about to by raising them up a couple inches with 2x4s. Any other ideas? A8A50740-11BE-41E5-A969-837091002F72.jpg

Did I mention he sings when the vehicle is moving?

I can sympathize with the other Husky owner..they sprinkle Husky Glitter (hair) on everything they get within 20 feet of.

My dog rides on the center console or front seat. Anywhere he wants in the cab as long as he doesn’t interfere with my driving. I can clean up mud and dog hair but the memories I get with him will last forever. Also I chose him he didn’t get to choose me so I try to give him the best life I can. 23221EEC-D76B-4320-A6EB-31FAA78FA00B.jpg

Backseat inside the “dog hammock” or whatever it’s called. Really helps with the hair.

I have to say meeting my friend’s huskies it’s a whole different story when dealing with their fur. Nothing like it

Here's my guy. Safe to say he takes up the whole back seat. We just use one of those dog hammocks in the back seat but it seems like every option online sucks.

Waiting to see a K9 transport for a Tacoma 4Runner.

    Negatives

    Expensive

Lose all functionality of your rear seat

Weird vibe for a personal use vehicle

    Would your dog be comfortable?

With all of the other aftermarket componets available for the Tacoma. I'm surprised there isn't an option out there for the Tacoma.
