Perhaps a few quotes from the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
    Superintendent’s Compendium
Of Designations, Closures, Permit Requirements and Other Restrictions Imposed Under Discretionary Authority
will help you understand why he was wrong. I’ve found NPS law enforcement officers to be some of the least forgiving of ignorance as an excuse.

    Use of Internal Combustion Motors:
    • Use of vessels propelled by internal combustion engine is prohibited except on the Delaware River
The Superintendent has determined that this restriction is necessary for the protection of environmental and scenic values; protection of natural resources; and to reduce public use conflicts. Bodies of water in the park other than the Delaware River are not conducive to the use of internal combustion engines due to their small size and the impact on other users of these areas. The risk of fuel spills on these small bodies of waters and the impact on environmental values and natural resources is greater than on larger bodies of water.

    Parking of Vehicles:
    • Parking of vehicles is permitted within the designated parking area while vehicle occupants are participating in recognized recreational activities, except those areas listed under visiting hours which are closed from sunset to sunrise.

    • Parking outside of designated parking areas is prohibited whether or not the area is signed “No Parking” except for:
    • Vehicle of occupants who are participating in recognized recreation activities within the park, and whose vehicles are parked safely off the roadway surface in locations immediately adjacent to established roadways; in locations where exiting and entering traffic flow is not affected; and where the parked vehicle does not create or maintain a hazardous condition, limit travel on the roadway or damage park resources.
    • Parking of Commercial Vehicles is prohibited in the park except under the following conditions:
    • Mechanical breakdowns, shutdowns due to law enforcement inspections, and by permission of the Superintendent
The Superintendent has determined that these restrictions are necessary to protect cultural and natural resources as well as reduce public use conflicts while promoting and facilitating the widest variety of public recreational opportunities. Traditionally, the Park has permitted hunters and anglers to park outside of designated parking areas and visiting hours to facilitate access to and promote hunting and angling as long as resource damage from such parking is minimized.

    36 CFR §3.6 – BOATING OPERATIONS
(a)(2) Launching or operating a vessel is prohibited, except at one of the following launch sites:
    • Bushkill Access
    • Caddoo Access (hand launch only)
    • Dingmans Ferry Access
    • Eshback Access
    27

    • Hidden Lake
    • Kittatinny Point
    • Milford Beach
    • Namanock Recreation Site (hand launch only)
    • Poxono Access
    • Smithfield Beach
    • Non-powered vessels and vessels exclusively powered by electric motors may be
launched manually (no trailers) at any location, on any waters, within the park

    7. Penalties for Not Adhering to the Compendium Requirements
A person who violates any provision of the regulations found in 36 CFR, Parts 1-7, or
    3

provisions of this Compendium, is subject to a fine as provided by law (18 U.S.C. 3571) up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment not exceeding six months (18 U.S.C. 3559), or both, and shall be adjudged to pay all court costs associated with any court proceedings. You may receive a list of fines associated with any particular provision by contacting the Chief Ranger at the park address found below.

If you think we are wrong and that you are allowed to drive a vehicle into the stream below Buttermilk Falls because there is no signage prohibiting it, feel free to call the Chief Ranger and ask his opinion.

That, amazingly, is a picture of a motor vehicle in its natural habitat, a roadway. They are allowed to be there. Unfortunately they are an invasive species in the waterways of North America.

I’m glad I was at work reading the last two pages and getting paid. If I read it on my own time that would have been a total waste, is it just me or are people getting dumber each day?

Is the Delaware Bay not enough to keep Delawarians from coming up here to pay sales tax?

So a kid made a mistake, don't think he meant any harm, didn't look he knocked the falls down and those that never made a mistake in their lives, pounce!

How about, "give that young man a heads up about the Delaware Water Gap regulations"... love the drama!

lol if you admitted you knew he did something wrong from the get go and said straight up, yeah that was a dumb thing for him to do, it probably wouldn’t have resulted in two pages of arguing that he was actually in the wrong in the first place.

    Anyways.......

Recommended shops near Northern NJ that are trustworthy and can do some suspension routine maintenance. Just looking to get some stuff re-torqued and bump stop installs. Maybe bumper installs too. Nothing crazy I just don't have the tools or space for everything.

Additionally, anyone have good experience with a shop of any kind to install a good solar set up? Ideally looking for redarc or renegy managment systems too.

Willing to drive a distance if the shops are worth it. Born and raised in this area but haven't lived back here in over 10 years so unsure where to go. For things like this here.

Also where the hell do ya'll actually take the trucks off payment besides places like Rausch creek or whatever. Looking for legal places too lol. I'd even take just a good ole fire road or any gravel road at this point to get a little lost on. Willing to drive a few hours for something like this....Are yellow posts even on thing on the east coast?
