They are designed to take OEM signals and allow you to run a aftermarket amp. The ones with super high limits are just extra headroom. In the case of the audio control lc2i, if the OEM sub outputs 200 watts, but you want a aftermarket one that runs 1000 watts, then you hook the OEM wires to the lc2i, the lc2i converts it into RCA signal that can plug into the aftermarket 1000 watt amp.

Its pretty much just a way to keep OEM headunits with aftermarket amps (since OEM headunits dont have RCA output signals, you have to convert it)

Think of it like a active subwoofer (JBL mpro, or yorkville ls200). The input is a 1/4 jack, but there is usually a switch where it can accept 2 signal inputs depending on if its getting straight signal or its being used as a passthrough system.

OK, so looks like that last person had a sub there (and trashed the child seat anchors). So it must of worked at some point how it should. Can you get me a closer picture of those plugs? it looks like they may of been modified at some point.

That is the harness for the kicker hs8. I cut off the plug in for the factory sub to use for my install there are some spots where someone drilled into the metal for some reason but I don’t know. I guess I’m just going to try to hook up the new one a different way when it gets in 4th time is the charm

Not that wire, the plugs themselves, there shouldnt be red tape on them, it should be black and it should go all the way to the plug.

There are some butt splices on the factory harness too but I check those wires and they ohm to ground so I’m not sure what they were mounting back there

I used the right door speaker because I already run the line from up there but I probably could have used the sub ones since they only push 55w
